Established in early 2001, the Blue Ridge mountain homes development has approximately 650 homes built to date spread across 225 acres. Community amenities include two clubhouses, two swimming pools and hot tubs, two fitness centers, 25 acre River Park on the Watauga River, a stocked fishing pond and a gorgeous one mile hiking trail named Brian Booe Memorial Trail. At the base of the mountain is Echota's 3,300 square foot clubhouse with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and entertainment area. The newer 6,000 square foot lodge-style clubhouse at Echota on the Ridge has a mountain top swimming pool has beautiful mountain views and soothing sounds of a waterfall cascading into the pool. Planned amenities include bocce ball, croquet courts and a putting green.

Neighborhoods include Echota on the Ridge and Chalakee. Choose one, two, three or four bedroom homes. New luxury three bedroom three bath condominiums start in the low $400k's. Re-sale mountain vacation homes can be found in the $200k's. Master Association annual fees begin around $3,900. Annual HOA fees begin around $4,500 depending on the type of home you choose (single family, condominium or townhome). 

With Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain ski resorts nearby, Echota continues to be one of the leading master planned communities. Echota condos can be included in rental programs. You'll be hard pressed to find any North Carolina mountain communities with close range views of Grandfather Mountain. Echota is also near award winning restaurants, one-of-a-kind shopping and Appalachian State University.

HOA fees are ridiculously HIGH and continue to go up every year! The new white windows being installed do NOT look as good as the cream or brown would have looked. White does not blend with the natural setting.
