Tennessee National is a Medallist Community, a joint venture between Greg Norman's Great White Shark Enterprises and Macquaire Bank, Australia's leading investment bank. The golf course opened in September 2006. The permanent golf clubhouse has not been built, we are told until the Tennessee golf club reaches 250 members. Additional amenities are proposed.

In October 2009, Tennessee National contracted with Waters-Edge Properties Inc to take over the sales and marketing programs. Waters-Edge Properties Inc promoted deeply discounted lot sales and "lender ordered sales". In our opinion, along with the real estate collapse, this added to the concern from buyers over the financial well being of the community.

In 2010, the contract expired with Waters-Edge Properties Inc. Tennessee National hired broker David Woodard to take over marketing and sales. Woodard has sold the majority of the spec homes since he started. In December 2010, Tennessee National listed the entire parcel for sale with broker CB Richard Ellis. According to the Knox News, Tennessee National has invested approximately $70 million in the project. The listing price of the entire parcel is undisclosed.

On February 5, 2014, Tennessee National was acquired by PNL Cumberland LLC, a Delaware entity with three members we believe to be David Porter, Scott Kocuek and Dan Levitan. PNL Cumberland LLC is affiliated with PNL Companies based in Dallas Texas.
