Avenue of the Oaks beyond the community's gated entrance is a dramatic statement and immediately lets you know you've arrived somewhere special living in Bluffton SC. Dating back in history to the year 1811, the grandeur of Belfair is found only nine miles west of one of the top places to live in South Carolina. The gated community borders the Colleton River. Adjacent to the club are the community's tennis courts, children's playground and ball fields. Belfair's location is in the heart of the Lowcountry with Savannah Georgia 25 miles to the south and Charleston 110 miles to the north. Hilton Head Island's award winning beaches are 10 miles to the east. The combination makes Bluffton one of the top places to live in South Carolina. Approximately 485 homes have been built to date of the 710 total homes planned in the Bluffton SC real estate development. Homes for sale at Belfair begin in the mid $400k's and lots for sale at can be found under $100k. Approved builders include H2 Builders, Brighton Builders and Shoreline Construction. HOA dues are included in the annual club membership dues. Property owners are required to join the golf club. The 2014 membership dues are $13,362 plus a $19,275 transfer fee paid when a property is acquired.

Adjacent to the neighborhood is the Belfair Towne Village, home to Kroger's grocery, restaurants, banks and other retail stores. The gated community is a golf cart friendly with connecting access to the village.
