With the season of giving upon us, The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce it’s 2014 charitable contributions totaling $60,000. This is the largest gift the Community Foundation has given to local charities since the Foundation began its financial outreach in 2006. This gift was divided between local charities based on the percentage of votes from the Reserve Membership at the beginning of 2014. The Reserve at Lake Keowee is known as one of the top places to live in South Carolina centered around golf and boating.

The five benefiting local organizations are Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Pickens County’s Feed a Hungry Child, The Parenting Place, Pickens County Senior Center, and Helping Hands of Clemson.  The checks were distributed to these organizations on Tuesday, December 16th at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.  The annual giving is made possible by proceeds from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX, The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Annual Charity Golf Classic and a percentage generated from annual real estate sales within The Reserve, a gated community in the Upstate.

“The Reserve at Lake Keowee Community and Staff support the Community Foundation’s goal of giving back to our local Pickens community each year,” said Kathryn Gravely, Executive Director of The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Community and Charitable Foundation. “It is through their diligent effort that our financial contributions to local organizations continues to grow each year.  Since we first began our charitable giving in 2006, The Reserve at Lake Keowee has given $292,000 to support the Pickens County community.  In addition to our financial support, our Reserve community gives back through volunteering hundreds of hours each year with various organizations as well.”

To help make an impact for the local community in 2015, mark your calendars for our next Charity Golf Classic on Tuesday, October 20th.  Registration will begin in February 2015.  There are plenty of sponsorship opportunities, Team registration for tournament play and silent and live auction participation and donations.  For more information about the Charity Golf Classic or the Community Foundation, contact Kathryn Gravely at 864-481-4010.
