Currahee Club Wins Three Aurora Awards for Excellence
AWARD WINNING SOUTHERN INSPIRED COMMUNITIES
Currahee Club is the proud winner of three Aurora Awards for Excellence at the 2014 Southern Building Conference. Competing against the top builders from around the Southeast and trendsetting Georgia gated communities, the Currahee Club was honored in three categories including the Custom Home Category for the 2013 Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home, the Recreational Facility Category for The Currahee Club House and the Recreational Facility Special Amenity Category for the Currahee Sports Amenity Campus.
Sponsored by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), the Aurora Award design competition is presented to outstanding builders, planners, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other housing-related professionals in the southern U.S. Winning the award garners respect and distinction and is recognized throughout the industry as the southeast region’s premier building and design competition.
The Custom Building Showcase Home Award is given to the custom homes that transcend the pages of the magazine into a dream home. Contestants are chosen for their experience and knowledge, reputation in the marketplace. Currahee Club was handpicked by Southern Living editors to build a Southern Living Showcase Home in 2013. The home, located in one of the best small towns in Georgia, boasts wide doors and gracious porches with outdoor living and magnificent views over the signature 17th golf hole.
The Recreational Facility award was given for the Currahee Clubhouse. The well-equipped locker rooms complete the Currahee golf experience. A custom-made Irish pub is the centerpiece of the Men's Locker Room and its private terrace offers a relaxing spot to rehash the game. The five-acre Currahee Sports Amenity Campus features a zero entry pool, tennis courts and network of hiking trails. The new $2.5 million dollar Currahee Amenity Campus is the state-of-the-art Sports Club, with amenities including:

2013 SOUTHERN LIVING CUSTOM BUILDER SHOWCASE HOME - BEST CUSTOM HOME AURORA AWARD
The breathtaking backdrop of the North Georgia Mountains and the lake, mountain and golf setting of Currahee Club have inspired the design and finishes of the 2013 Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home by Dillard-Jones Builders. A Dillard-Jones custom design, the 2013 Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home is a 3,989-square-foot, four-bedroom plan called Quarry Ridge. The elevation of the home offers lake, mountain and golf course views, and overlooks Hole #17-the Quarry Hole-on Currahee Club's Rolex World's Top 1,000 Golf Course designed by Jim Fazio.
The home's main level features a dining/kitchen/great room combination with a 24 foot vaulted ceiling and ample windows allowing views that are not inhibited by cabinets or walls. The master suite on the main level features a bedroom with coffered ceiling, and a master bath with a rainfall showerhead and freestanding volcanic limestone tub.
