Tellico Lake was named 'Best Eastern Tennessee Lake' by Boating Life Magazine. Winters are mild and summers cooled by the breezes rolling off The Smokies. 75% of the land around the lake is undeveloped and protected preserving its natural beauty. Rarity Bay is also has an equestrian center providing boarding, horse pastures and trail rides to club members. Horse camps, barrel races and horse shows take place throughout the year.

There is hardly a need to leave Rarity Bay, whether you choose to live at Tennessee golf communities year round or as a second home. When the sun begins to set, make your way over to the Rarity Bay Clubhouse for a delicious dining experience. We had the pleasure of dining at the club and enjoying their smoked Prime Rib which was excellent. Prices at the Rarity Bay golf club are reasonable for lunch and dinner. 

Located on one of the most beautiful Tennessee lakes facing The Smokies, to us, Rarity Bay is more relaxing than living in Knoxville. 1,600 homes are planned with approximately 450 homes built to date. Lots for sale are available in the $30k's, Rarity Bay condos for sale can be found in the mid $100k's, villas in the mid $300k's and single family homes for sale at Rarity Bay start in the mid $500k's. Rarity Bay approved builders include Greystone Construction, Heartwood Homes and Providence Builders.  All of these custom home builders are ready to make relocating to Tennessee as seemless as possible.

The views are spectacular plus it is just the right size to give a true community feel. Small enough to meet and get to know people as friends yet big enough to support numerous events, clubs and mix of people. More private being on a gate peninsula. One can drive around in his/her own golf cart. It is like being in college with spending money and no homework.

It is a gated community where everyone may socialized without regard to who, where or what you've been. Full acceptance and support for each other at all levels in family, health, and social. We have privacy but excellent access to theater, arts, music , water, equestrian, golf, tennis, and atmospheric dawns and sunsets which are not rivaled by many. I am a photographer and never lack for settings, moods, or wildlife to capture.

Two things stand out here. The first is the quality of the people. From our personal experience, this place is full of people that you want to spend time with, and there are more than ample activities to give you that opportunity. The second feature is the property. We think it is the best piece of property in the region: on Lake Tellico which is lowered a minimal amount by TVA each year and that preserves the beauty of the property, a fine and picturesque golf course and equestrian center on the grounds, and mountain views from many, many sites on the property.
