Because it is within a day's drive both the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic; it feel like living in a state park because of the lakes, trees, and hills; centrally located we say it is on everybody's way to somewhere. Additionally, for retirees taxes are reasonable.

There is a great spirit of neighbors helping neighbors in Fairfield Glade. We have a non-profit organization that uses community volunteers to deliver meals to those who can't get out easily, provide rides to those who don't drive but need to get to a doctor's appointment or the hair salon or wherever they need to go. And these are just a couple of the services provided. Fairfield Glade has two marinas, 11 lakes, 5 golf courses and riding stables for those who enjoy the great outdoors. If you prefer the indoors, there are clubs for just about anything you might be interested in. There are also ongoing educational seminars on technology, finance, aging etc. We are very proud of our community and it shows by how beautifully it is maintained.

Property owners complained they were not able to build their homes without this basic infrastructure. In 2007, Fairfield Glade settled with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for $2.5 million plus $500k in fines as damages for not completing the infrastructure on time. Buyers who purchased land at Fairfield Glade between May 1973 and November 1975 may have been eligible for reimbursement from these damages.

A new 30,000 square foot medical center broke ground in late 2012 adding to the medical facilities in the neighborhood.

We questioned if the Homeowners Association has adequately reserved funds for renovating and remodeling the club amenities. Financial information has been provided showing $3.2M in reserves. We were also informed roads have been provided to all buildable lots.

Fairfield Glade Community Club property owners now own Fairfield Glade with the exception of the CMC Wellness Center which is owned by Cumberland Medical Center.
