Bordering the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway, Tidelands is a beautiful waterfront enclave canopied by hard oaks and tropical palm trees. Standing in a backyard, we observed dolphins exploring the waterways as well as sailboats leisurely floating by. Located half way between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, Tidelands on the Intracoastal is an exceptional place to find affordable condos near the Palm Coast beach. The area is known as one of the top Florida retirement cities because of the low cost of living and taxes.

Tidelands on the Intracoastal is an 80 acre gated master planned community surrounded by water on three sides where we found single family homes on one side of the neighborhood and luxury mid-rise condominiums on the other.  We admired the architecture of the community which consists of both Florida Modern and Mediterranean. Originally a 2006 Centex Destination Property, Tidelands is now part of the Pulte Homes development group.  Pulte has preserved 60% of the acreage as protected green space which gives this gated community a lush look.  We especially enjoyed the private, scenic walking and biking trail which weaves under shaded trees along the Intracoastal Waterway.

The new homes Palm Coast FL consist of single family, condominium, and town homes. Th gated community provides for an active lifestyle only three miles from the Palm Coast beach.

Tidelands on the Intracoastal is slated for 500 homes in all. 150 single family homes and 350 condominiums. Single family homes are priced from the mid $300k’s and condominiums start in the low $100k's. The Palm Coast condos average 1,200 square feet and, depending on the unit, deeded parking spaces are available. The Tequesta town homes average 1,400 square feet. 

Public schools in the area are Belle Terre Elementary, Indian Trails Middle School, and Matanzas High School.  In addition, there are a variety of private schools nearby. This is a great place to find an affordable lifestyle in one of the top Florida retirement cities.
