ITT (International Telephone and Telegraph) originally owned 5 miles of oceanfront property in Palm Coast Florida. ITT developed Hammock Dunes Club in the early 1990's. ITT built the first condominiums at Hammock Dunes later followed by WCI Communities building newer oceanfront condominiums and carriage homes. WCI filed bankruptcy when the real estate market collapsed.
In 2009, WCI Communities emerged successfully from bankruptcy. Hammock Dunes has a combination of single family home neighborhoods and higher density condominium areas. Over twenty years later, after the first shovel hit the ground, Hammock Dunes appears financially strong and beautifully maintained.
