Orchid Island is perhaps Vero Beach's most prestigious address located on the northern side of one of the top Florida retirement cities. The debt-free, 600-acre gated community showcases West Indies inspired architecture and borders both the Indian River and Atlantic Ocean, and is located just south of the Sebastian Inlet. The grandeur of the Orchid Island club is enhanced by miles of unspoiled beaches, private beach access walkways, and 25 chic poolside cabanas. The tropical 25,000-square-foot beach club offers casual and upscale dining overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Orchid Island's 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer. The scenic course's topography weaves around grand palm trees, bubbling lakes, and an Audubon Certified Sanctuary. Vero Beach luxury homes overlook the course, the beach, and the Indian River. The recently renovated 17,000-square-foot golf clubhouse has beautiful views of the lakes, the golf course fairways and Vero Beach luxury homes within the community. While visiting, we observed members enjoying both clubhouses for social events, games, and lectures. Both inside the golf clubhouse and out on the veranda, the club offers delicious lunch and dinner. The club is one of the Distinguished Emerald Clubs of the World for providing a superlative member experience.

The new Orchid Island Fitness and Wellness Center has state-of-the-art fitness equipment and aerobics, strength training, Pilates and yoga classes.  Here, club members have the option of spa massage treatments, facials, or peel treatments. 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, tennis instruction, and tennis clinics are also available at the center. In 2015, it was honored as one of America's Healthiest Clubs by Prevo Health Solutions. 

Orchid Island is a pet friendly community in one of the top Florida retirement cities. It's member-owned and property owners are required to join the club. Equity memberships range from $40k - $100k plus an initiation fee. The closest best schools are Beachland Elementary School, Gifford Middle School, Sebastian River High School, and Saint Edwards School.  

Established in the late 1990’s, the Vero Beach luxury real estate development is meticulously maintained and beautifully landscaped. Orchid Island's location between the ocean and the Indian River provides tropical breezes year round. Just two miles north of the island is the famous Sebastian Inlet State Park, Indian River's northern gateway to the Atlantic Ocean.
