To us, the Oldfield Club is one of the most interesting golf communities in South Carolina bordering the Okatie River, just north of Hilton Head Island and south of one of America's Happiest Seaside Towns. Although the Greg Norman Signature Golf Course commands attention, the Oldfield Equestrian Center, Fitness Sports Club, and resort-style swimming pool add to the active lifestyle for families of all ages. As a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, the Outfitters Center at Oldfield is another amenity rumored to offer one of the finest private outfitter programs in the Southeast.

This Low Country real estate development offers property owners access to kayaks, fishing equipment, bicycles and community docks. The Outfitters Center has a kayak launch and retrieval program whereby they’ll store, clean, gas, and launch your boat at Oldfield. Or if you prefer, you can launch your boat on your own at a neighboring ramp. Wildlife habitats to explore on property include nesting areas for white egrets, blue herons, bald eagles, white tail deer, turtles, bottlenose dolphins and an occasional river otter. It's hard to find a more nature oriented gated community of the Sea Islands South Carolina.

The Sports Club is home to six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball court, a state of the art fitness center, heated indoor lap pool and outdoor swimming pool. Fitness classes at the Sports Club include Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, water aerobics and social cycling. Tennis clinics are also available at the club. The 18 hole championship golf course at Oldfield was the first golf course in the Lowcountry designed by Greg Norman opening in 2002. Norman crafted an outstanding route for the course through canopies of moss draped live oaks, broad savannahs, and soaring pines up to the banks of the Okatie River. In 2006, the golf course achieved Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status as one of the most protected golf communities in South Carolina and the community is golf cart friendly. The 20,000 square foot golf clubhouse is home to a bar and grill and is adjacent to the Golf Shop. The River Club is the community's second elegant clubhouse featuring upscale dining with gorgeous views of the Okatie River.

Oldfield Club has a beautiful mix of bright sunshine and canopied covered roads. The gated entrance limits street traffic making the roads quiet for bicycling and jogging. Miles of dedicated, leisure trails wind through out this Low Country real estate development and along the Okatie River. Just beyond the gated entrance is the Oldfield Equestrian Center. The equestrian center offers trail rides, lessons and full service horse care. The social activities calendar at Oldfield is filled with family events and opportunities to share common interests. Social clubs include the Oldfield Fishing & Outdoor Club, Men's Club and Book Club. Property owners are required to become members of the club. Golf club membership is optional. In 2014, membership dues are $6,850 per year. Full golf privileges are an additional $5,565 per year.

Of the 547 homes planned, approximately 230 homes have been built to date. Architectural styles reflect Lowcountry cottage homes and Carolina farmhouse. Arrowhead Lake is the newest neighborhood with cottage homes with metal roofs located adjacent to the Lakeside Pavilion. Lakeside Village another charming neighborhood framed around community squares accented by homes with wide front porches facing open green space and welcoming sidewalks. Lowcountry cottage homes at begin in the high $300K's. Approved builders include Breckenridge Development Group, Providence Group and Jolly Development.

"Director of Sports Club spends more time on her personal training than implementing programs for members. The tennis facility could be a money maker, as others in the area. Pro is part-time director and has no clue. "
