Three deepwater marinas cater to 300 boats up to 60 feet in length. In 2012, CAI-NC named Fairfield Harbour Community of the Year, a testament of great New Bern NC golf courses.

I am a 14 year resident in Fairfield Harbour, a waterfront community in Middle Coastal North Carolina. Recently our contract Community Manager notified residents of your current poll and suggested the best response would be a five star rating in all cases. In my opinion, there are two serious issues with following this suggestion. First and obvious, it destroys the validity of your sample survey, and second such a rating will totally misrepresent the environment within our community. There is no doubt that Fairfield Harbour has natural and man made resources that are second to none. However, life style is equally important to an enjoyable community. Fairfield Harbour fails miserably on life style and social environment. From a Board of Directors that does not follow the election process in the current bylaws, to misappropriation of dues in contradiction to the very specific authorization contained in the Declaration of Restrictions, to an overall attitude that the only recourse for property owners is the courts at which time the Board will use dues to defend itself using a Raleigh attorney/lobbyist for the Community Associations Institutes, which lobbies for more and more restrictive laws in our state Senate and House. Again my opinion, Fairfield Harbour is a very sick social environment that will take years if not decades to resolve.

Fairfield Harbour is the least happy neighborhood of 6 that I have lived in, where many ill willed cliques exist, and where neighbors look the other way rather than acknowledge you. Not all but many.

There are no amenities anymore and our POA dues keep increasing a good amount each year with little to show for it. Had I realized how far away it was from everything, I would have purchased elsewhere in town.
