Located upstream from Goose Creek State Park and off the Pamlico Sound is a charming boating and golf neighborhood named Cypress Landing on Chocowinity Bay. Developed in the early 1990's, one of the friendliest coastal retirement communities is just 8 miles from America's first city named after America's first president, Washington.

One of the few North Carolina coastal communities with a deepwater marina comprises of 750 acres and approximately 600 homes have been built to date of the 720 planned. Lowcountry style homes and traditional American brick are the architectural styles. Winding roads lead to welcoming cul-de-sacs. Tall trees and lakes accented with fountains add to the neighborhood's curb appeal. The 9,000 square foot Cypress Landing Yacht Clubhouse is impressive along with its deepwater marina on the Pamlico River.

The 9,000 square foot Cypress Landing Yacht Clubhouse offers soothing views overlooking the water, upstream from the Pamlico Sound. The 221 boat slips can accommodate boats up to 42 feet. Boat slips can be purchased through a 99 year lease. Amenities include a resort-style swimming pool, fitness center and bar. Cypress Landing Golf Club is the community's 18 hole championship golf course designed by William R. Love. The golf course is semi-private and property owners are not required to join the club. Additional amenities include four lighted tennis courts across from the golf clubhouse. HOA fees are $1,224 annually and include membership to the pools, Bay Club, Tennis and Health and Fitness Center which is a great value to the community. Residents participate in more than 22 social clubs which include Master Gardeners, Supper Clubs, Singles Groups and the Red Hat Society.

It is a beautiful location on the bay, residents are friendly and from all over so there is a lot to learn from them. The two pools are lovely, a beautiful golf course, a nice fitness center and always some activities that should be something everyone would enjoy.

Drive (or walk) into this community and you are certain to be greeted with a smile and wave. But here it is much more than just a show.....people really are happy to live here. Not just because they can do what they love, boat, golf, play tennis, table games, work in the yard, etc., but because our neighbors become our family. What's not to be happy about? We have lived here for 10 years, and still every day when we wake up, we have a smile on our face. We have to pinch ourselves because we live in such a wonderful place. The community is a bunch of like minded people, enjoying life, giving back to the community, still working hard and playing hard. The very first time we drove into the community - it just felt good. That hasn't changed in 10 years. That first day we were amazed, every single person we passed waived and/or spoke to us. Wow! Today, we understand, that's the way a community should be, neighbors, taking care of each other, like family. People ask, what is there to do? Anything and everything is my answer. Play tennis, golf, boat, kayak, hike, swim, bird watch, theater and much more. Sure - big shopping centers are 2 hours away....but so is the traffic associated with big shopping centers. I remember it taking 2 hours to drive 15 miles. Not so here. A traffic jam is 5 cars! So, again I ask.....what's not to be happy about! Yes, we're the happiest community to live in!
