As as self-sustaining city, residents have grocery stores, home improvement stores and high quality medical care all close-by. The Villages Regional Medical Centers offer medical testing, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation as well as other healthcare centers. 

The social scene is significant. Not only for couples, The Villages has attracted a large single population for a number of reasons but mostly because it’s easy to make new friends and feel safe in a like-minded retirement community.
