BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK CITIES

Knoxville will soon blossom with music, food and art during the 14th Annual Rossini Festival. About 100,000 people are expected to celebrate the live entertainment. This Tennessee music festival takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10am-9pm and there’s no charge to get in. The Rossini Festival, one of the biggest tourist attractions in Knoxville, spans more than a dozen blocks, features performances on five stages and features more than 800 performers for music lovers of all kinds. The Rossini Festival features a family-friendly kid zone with interactive and arts activities for young people. Bring your appetite. There are more than 190 food, beverage and artisan exhibits.

Access to great entertainment and great tourist attractions in Knoxville are just two reasons why people love living in East Tennessee.  Knoxville’s downtown has seen a renaissance in the past several years, and its momentum still continues today. New retail, restaurants and entertainment spots in the centrally located Market Square just keep on opening, and the Old City section is doing well too and the Gay Street corridor running down the heart of the city is thriving.

There are great waterfront retirement communities near downtown Knoxville that reflect small town charm along with peaceful living.  Tellico Village is the most popular master planned community. There are no high amenity fees or expensive Tennessee golf club memberships. Tellico Village has lakefront and golf course homes of all sizes and styles. It also offers 'pay as you play' amenities at the three private championship golf courses. A round of golf averages $33 including the cart.

Another nearby waterfront retirement community worth taking a look at is Rarity Bay. Whether you’re downsizing in retirement or creating a second home for vacation, Rarity Bay has a lot to offer. It also features an exceptional golf course, as well as boating on a 16,000 acre lake, a world class equestrian center, and some of the most breathtaking mountain and lake views you can imagine!  More than 50 social clubs are active at Rarity Bay providing residents plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and socialize; social clubs such as Dinner for Eight and the Rarity Bay Women's Club.

The lake system around the Knoxville area has plenty of opportunities for homeowners to find their own piece of waterfront heaven. Unquestionably a gorgeous Eastern Tennessee lake, Norris Lake is well known as a waterfront retirement community. It is a great place to raft up your boat and hang out with your friends on the water. Norris Lake is one of Eastern Tennessee’s cleanest lakes home to trophy size fish waiting to challenge you. Norris Lake's most modern marina, Waterside Marina is designed for 700 boat slips and close enough to fine dining, brand name shopping, best rated schools and award winning medical care in Knoxville Tennessee.  Most folks there are happy to leave the city behind seeking local culture, antique stores and nature's secrets found on this pristine Tennessee lake.

Watts Bar Lake is also part of the Tellico Lake system. It is known as the “King of Southern Great Lakes.”  That’s because it is 42,000 acres of wide open stretches of water. Area marinas offer hundreds of boat slips, large and small boat rentals, cabin rentals, houseboats and supplies. Countless coves and islands with natural sand beaches offer ideal spots for virtually all water sports. Fishermen can cast a line in the wide open flats or the narrow winding river channels. Watts Bar Lake also hosts a number of tourist attractions in the Knoxville area including championship bass fishing tournaments.
