If you're a fan of history, there are great events throughout the year at Fort Loudoun, Tennessee. Just 30 miles south of Knoxville, Fort Loudoun is a remnant from the French and Indian War. Located on the banks of Tellico Lake, one of the great places to live in Tennessee, the fort supported the Cherokee in their war against the French. Today, you can experience what it was like at Fort Loudoun during the 1700's, with events and re-enactments at Garrison Weekends on Tellico Lake.

The purpose of Garrison Weekends is to show visitors what life there was like in the 18th century. On these special days, the daily lives of the men, women and children of Fort Loudoun are recreated for the public. Park visitors will experience live actors in 18th century costumes, as they witness the activity of the infirmary, the soldier’s barracks, the commanders quarters, blacksmith shop and a Cherokee encampment. During Garrison Weekends you can also enjoy the lakeside picnic area, nearby nature trails, and all the beautiful sights and sounds around Tellico Lake.

The schedule for Fort Loudoun's 2016 Garrison Weekends is:

  • March 19th & 20th – Garrison Weekend
  • May 21st & 22nd – Garrison Weekend
