Summer News from The Reserve at Lake Keowee
The Fourth of July holiday was a huge success with a large turnout at one of the area’s finest Greenville SC golf communities and frequent host of the BMW Charity Pro-Am. The fun-filled holiday celebration featured a host of games and events for all ages, along with delicious food, great camaraderie, and a thrilling fireworks display over the lake.
The summer isn’t half over and already it has been action packed as many continue to explore Lake Keowee homes for sale at The Reserve. The tennis complex has been extremely busy with both beginners and highly efficient players attending clinics or participating in league play. The golf program is also in full swing. For the second straight year, Tim Boeve and his staff hosted The Reserve Youth Golf Camps, which attracted more than 50 aspiring young linksters to work on fundamentals and sharpen their skills.
As always, the pools and Marina have been busy with swimming, sun bathing, and a variety of watersports programs.
WHAT'S NEW?
Village Market
Chef Andreas Sellner is now preparing the special dinners at The Market on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6pm. The lakefront Village Market brings people together—where neighbors meet at The Market for groceries, mail, lunch, shopping or simply to plan the day’s adventure.
Construction has begun on the New Fitness Center
The vision is becoming a reality at the Lake Keowee property. Ground has been broken and they’re making great progress on our new, state-of-the-art Fitness Center, scheduled to be complete by early 2018. The new facility will be designed to accommodate a wide range of fitness needs from the latest strength machines and workout equipment, to a variety of yoga, aerobic, and spin classes.
Golf Updates
The golf course is in great shape and they’ve featured various programs focused on fellowship and community. As they move towards late summer and early fall, they have some great events teed up:
- AUGUST 11-13: Family Feud
- AUGUST 30-31: Ladies Member/Guest
- SEPTEMBER 24: Couples 9 and Dine
- OCTOBER 11-13: Ladies Member/Guest
- OCTOBER 28-29: Club Championship
The club congratulated Gentlemen's Member/Guest Champions Rocky McDonough and John McDonough on their fine play! This event was fully subscribed with 120 players. The weekend was filled with great golf, friendship, and competition.
As much as everyone loves the summer months at The Reserve, the cooler night time temperatures that fall brings are certainly welcomed to the Greenville SC golf communities. The summer provides optimum playing conditions for our Bermuda grass Tees and Fairways, but the warm days and cooler fall nights are ideal for our Bent grass putting greens. These cooler nights provide ideal rooting and recovery from summer stresses on our cool season greens. Not only do the fall temperatures help in providing firm and fast putting greens, they also add some color to your round as the leaves begin to change and the course begins to take a new look.
Planning for the Swine & Dine and Golf Classic is in full swing, with a host of member volunteers working to make these two events memorable and fun. Great live auction packages were purchased during last year's Swine & Dine.
Garden Club News
Hats off to the Home and Garden Tour Committee who raised over $4,000 for the charities at their recent home tour event. What a great addition to the fund.
New Neighborhood Coming Soon
The Reserve is very excited about the recent announcement about the future development of our newest and most unique neighborhood, Settlement Village. They are still in the initial stages of planning: reviewing conceptual drawings, obtaining road permits, finalizing the plat and choosing home designs which will range from 2,200-3,200 square feet. Phase 1 will include 20 lots, many with exceptional elevated lake, golf and mountain views. A Pavilion, pool and central lawn will be bustling with activity once completed in May of 2018. A home site reservation program will be available soon or folks can find a Lake Keowee home for sale now in one of the many beautiful neighborhoods along the golf course, on the lake or near the community’s amenities.
