Charlie has cultivated a strong following and created fine art for corporate, public and private collections.  Pate’s artwork has graced such places as the South Carolina State House, Furman University Chapel, The United States Department of Defense – Pentagon installation, various churches and the Old Exchange building in Charleston, SC.

“We are delighted to welcome Charlie Pate to The Reserve at Lake Keowee as this year’s Artist in Residence,” said Cathy Washburn, Executive Director of The Reserve at Lake Keowee Foundation. “With his focus on the natural beauty of South Carolina and his experience in both painting and sculpting, his residency here is extra special and will be an inspiration to us all.”

Now in its eighth year, The Reserve’s Artist in Residence program enables the community to share its beauty with artists, allowing them to experience a retreat that offers time for reflection and inspiration.  The program is funded by The Reserve’s Community Foundation, which has held the Arts as one of four focus areas since its 2008 inception.

Event list featuring Charlie Pate’s work (free and open to the public):

• Tuesday, May 16th  a Reception and Art Show will be held at Founders Hall from 4-6pm. Charlie’s artwork will be displayed for show and for purchase as well as artwork by his son, Charlie Pate, Jr.
