The Reserve at Lake Keowee is honored to have helped the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation raise more than $676,000 as a host site during this year's tournament. Now the Southeast's premier luxury lakefront community is preparing for its own 8th Annual Charitable Golf Classic scheduled for Monday, October 24.

During the 2016 BMW Charity Pro-Am 118 Reserve members collectively logged 423 volunteer days and Janet Kowalski was named Volunteer of the Year. It is the fourth year that the community has been a co-host site for the Web.com Tour tournament, which has raised more than $12 million in its 15-year history. The Reserve's Big Break: Warrior Edition held during tournament week raised more than $44,000 for local veterans, with all funds donated to Upstate Warrior Solution.

Since 2006, The Reserve, through its Charitable Golf Classic, has raised more than $400,000 for local non-profit organizations, including a record $110,000 in 2015. Earlier this year online review website Community Finder honored Reserve members' efforts to enhance the surrounding communities with Bliss Award for Best Community Spirit.

"There is an emphasis among our membership on contributing to the local community," said David Fleming, General Manager of The Reserve at Lake Keowee. "To be able to build on those efforts each year is not only special for The Reserve, it also has a real impact on peoples' lives in this area."

The annual Charitable Golf Classic is organized by The Reserve's Community and Charitable Foundations. Recipients of proceeds from this year's tournament include: Feed a Hungry Child, Helping Hands Children's Shelter, Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Pickens Senior Center, Safe Harbor, Family Promise of Pickens County, Ripple of One and Samaritan Health.

"The Charitable Foundation is part of The Reserve's larger Community Foundation, which has four major functions to serve property owners and the general public," said Cathy Washburn, Executive Director of the Community and Charitable Foundations. "We help preserve natural resources in the area through events of environmental stewardship. We provide educational and enrichment programs, promote cultural initiatives through performing arts, and assist charitable organizations through outreach. Our community shares a deep rooted desire to leave a positive mark."

The Charitable Golf Classic offers a rare opportunity to play on The Reserve's award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature design, a Golf Digest Top-20 course in South Carolina. Space is extremely limited in the 128-player field.

Entry is $200 per person or $800 per four-person scramble-format team. Brunch prepared by The Reserve's excellent culinary team will be available, as will heavy appetizers post-round. And the day will also feature an optional short game clinic, silent auction charity fundraiser and awards ceremony.
