Beaufort SC Holiday Festivities by the Sea

The holidays are just around the corner. Historic Beaufort South Carolina is home to many beloved and long standing southern inspired holiday traditions.  In December, downtown Beaufort begins to look a lot like Christmas with three days of holiday celebrations this December including seasonal entertainment, shopping, Santa, and magical parades on land and by sea. 

Holiday festivities kick off with “A Night on the Town” on Friday, December 2nd. That’s when downtown businesses stay open later – until 9pm and choirs, clubs and dance groups provide entertainment to downtown visitors. The highlight of the evening is when Santa lights the city’s official Christmas tree. “A Night on the Town” begins at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, December 3rd, the Beaufort Sail and Power Squadron and Main Street Beaufort, USA co-host the annual “Light Up the Night Boat Parade” featuring decorated boats on the Beaufort River from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Onlookers should arrive early to get a spot along the seawall to see the boats in all of their holiday splendor. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boat in six categories.

The traditional annual Christmas parade is set for Sunday, December 4th at 3:00pm through the streets of downtown Beaufort. Floats, bands and walkers will help to make this a holiday occasion that you don' won’t want to miss.
