Sierra Nevada Asheville
Published on October 3, 2016

The history behind these companies is inspirational. Sustainability is high on the list of priorities at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Even in the early days of the company, there was a promise to produce beer that didn’t harm but preserved the environment. A look at the core values of New Belgium Brewing Company, which includes a focus on the needs of its employees, and it’s clear why this company is so successful. While both companies exhibit unique distinctions, the philosophy of good quality beer is a shared commonality that attracts consumers.

Among those consumers, boomers who enjoy the hoppy taste of India Pale Ales (IPAs). While some beer drinkers found IPAs bitter, boomers with mature taste buds seem to enjoy them, and when the generation of Woodstock finds something they enjoy, they support it. Thanks to the close proximity of several senior homesteads, boomers don’t have to travel far to enjoy those IPAs. That’s because nearby senior estates make up of some of the best neighborhoods in Asheville.

Anchored at the foothills of the Ducker Mountain, is one of the best neighborhoods in Asheville – The Ramble Biltmore Forest community. It’s here where residents can enjoy an active lifestyle that allows them opportunity to partake in the beauty of nature. This gated estate borders the Blue Ridge Parkway and provides some of the most breathtaking views of fall foliage. Everywhere residents turn, nature encompasses this mountain community.

Miles of forest and lake trails make residents of the Biltmore Lake feel like they’re secluded in a private oasis, but close enough to the bright lights of urban life. Biltmore Lake is a highly sought after location among those looking for Western North Carolina real estate. One attraction is the Vanderbilt name. Biltmore Lake was once home of the Biltmore Dairy Farm. Today it is one of the best neighborhoods in Asheville.

One sure thing about Western North Carolina real estate, nature, specifically, the majestic Blue Ridge Mountain, play a prominent role in the landscape. Reynolds Mountain takes advantage of this attribute. This large-scale mixed-use community incorporates upscale retail stores, commercial properties and luxury residential all in one. This is an ideal location for active boomers.

The 2016 Asheville Oktoberfest is one of the most popular beer festivals, if you’re a beer lover this is the place to be. After sampling some of the stouts, spend some time touring Western North Carolina and see for yourself why so many are drawn to the beauty of this region.
