2015 BLISS AWARD WINNER - BEST HIKING COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR

Summer is here, let the fun begin. Or as your kids would say, LTFB!  Don’t miss the 2015 July Fourth festivities at Big Canoe while you’re searching for homes for sale in northern GA.  A jam-packed weekend of events starting on July 4th and ending on July 5th is on tap for one of the most beautiful largest master planned communities in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  There will be activities for the kids, the kid at heart, and your four-legged family members.  There’s so much to do, you may want to give your boss the pink slip and retire to Georgia early.

The kids kick-off the fun on Saturday, July 4th at 9:30 a.m. at the basketball court in the Wildcat Pavilion area.  They’ll hop on their decked-out bicycles, and parade around in a circle showing off their artistic expressions of what patriotism looks like to them.  All kids are welcome to take part and prizes will be awarded in all age categories. Get those red, white and blue streamers ready.

The fun moves to Fido and FiFi at 10 a.m. as pet owners don their doggies in fashions celebrating the Red, White, and Blue and everything else that honors our patriotic spirit.  The winner of this event takes home the 2015 Doggie Crown.

Parents, you don’t have to worry about there not being enough activities for the kids at Big Canoe. There will be three inflatables on site.  You can choose from a wet one, a dry and bouncy one, or one just for toddlers and tots.  And if your little one prefers sitting, head over to the face-painting booth where a master face-painting artist will create looks that are bound to be worth several selfies.

No Fourth of July event will be complete without crowd favorite activities like tug-of-war, sack and three-legged races, egg relays and don’t turn your back on the balloon throwing contest. After you’ve tired yourself out with all to the attractions, it may be time to get a bite to eat.  You can purchase a variety of drinks and foods like - hot dogs, hamburgers, and ice cream right on there on the field. The welcomed food break will give you time to relax and plan out the best place to take in the fireworks at Lake Petit at beautiful Big Canoe.

While gazing at the fireworks spectacular, sit back and take the scenery of the award winning homes and homes for sale in northern Georgia at Big Canoe.  But be forewarned, you don’t want to miss the start of the 5K Fun Run/Walk on July 5th, so you may not want to linger for too long.  More than 250 people participated in last year’s Fun Run.

This family fun packed weekend is just one example of what one of the largest master planned communities has to offer families of all ages and Boomers who retire to Georgia. There are yearly activities sponsored by Big Canoe’s POA and HOA:
