The first Saturday of December has just passed and folks in one of the best small towns in Georgia are rockin’ around the Christmas tree each day during this month. There’s a variety of fun things to do in the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia making it worth taking a peek during the holidays. On the First of December, Santa was welcomed by the residents as he made his way through the streets of this happy community. 

On December 6th, the annual downtown parade and tree lighting ceremony was the main event, beginning at 3 p.m. Afterwards, families living in the north Georgia cities gathered in Hancock Park at 6 p.m. to experience the Holiday Movie Under the Stars. Elf was the chosen film, and has been a popular holiday flick for years which is no wonder why everyone left smiling. Other events include the Historic Holly Theatre performance of ‘White Christmas’ on December 5th-7th, 12th-14th and 19th-21st. Ride the old fashioned trolley or sit on Santa’s lap with a hot cup of cocoa and remember the days of yore.
