A Taste of Asheville - The 2015 Scrumptious Small Plate Crawl

Best Asheville NC Restaurants
Published on January 14, 2015

Foodies can sample the best of Asheville’s culinary scene at the upcoming Asheville Small Plate Crawl.  Set to take place February 24-24, 2015, dozens of delicious Asheville restaurants will create special Small Plate Menus, priced between $3 to $8.  Participants can sample their favorite entrees from a variety of area restaurants while ‘crawling’ from place to place during lunch and dinner hours. Many of the restaurants are locally owned and feature food from local farms near the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Most of the eateries are within walking distance of downtown, one of the best neighborhoods in Asheville NC. The following restaurants are taking part in this year’s event.

  • Chai Pani -  “Mind blasting” Indian cuisine
  • Cúrate - Award winning Spanish tapas bar
  • French Broad Chocolate Lounge - Handcrafted chocolate factory and tasting room
  • Isa’s Bistro - Seasonal ingredients framed around new American
  • Jerusalem Garden Cafe  -  authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine
  • King James Public House  - A new twist on Appalachian cuisine
  • Lexington Avenue Brewery  -  Pub inspired classics and handcrafted beers
  • The Lobster Trap -  Asheville’s premier seafood restaurant
  • Nightbell - Flavors of Spain in a whimsical setting
  • Sante Wine Bar - 16 wine and beer selections on tap

Food and chocolate are a great way to attract people and bring them closer together.  Food enthusiasts travel far and wide for a taste of local and authentic cuisine.  Some cities, like New Orleans and New York City, are known for their sheer abundance of quality local restaurants and their residents’ love for dining out. But smaller cities are starting to get noticed too. Recently, Asheville was featured in a round-up by The Huffington Post on “The 13 Greatest Destination Food Towns in America.”  Last June, Livability.com placed Asheville at #4 on its "Top 10 Foodie Cities 2014" list.  That same month, Departures called Asheville "The Biggest Little Culinary Capital in America."

Delicious food isn’t the only reason people flock to the best neighborhoods in Asheville NC.  Many people are drawn to the area’s rustic mountain homes and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Biltmore Lake is one the premier lakeside locations for luxury homes and Asheville real estate close to downtown. The Biltmore Lake community of homes is elegant, yet simple while being rich in detail, quality and amenities.

Those amenities include walking trails, children’s playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts. Biltmore Lake is probably best known for its 62-acre lake that provides hours of recreation for boaters and fishermen.  Walking trails connect through adjoining neighborhoods, and with the lake as its focal point, outdoor fun helps residents make the most of life in the mountains. Homes here begin around $500k or you can find homesites in the Cedar Rock and Greenwells Glory neighborhoods. Preferred custom home builders who can build you a fabulous kitchen include Bluestone Construction, Pallidium Builders, Dillard-Jones Builders and Tyner Construction.

For those searching for rustic mountain homes in the best neighborhoods in Asheville NC and near the Blue Ridge Parkway, we have a number of friendly places to suggest.
