The former host of the BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament, Bright's Creek has been named one of the Best New Golf Courses in Western North Carolina by GolfWeek Magazine. After playing the Tom Fazio Signature designed golf course, the beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding you is a continuous distraction. Spread over 5,000 acres, Bright's Creek has an excellent equestrian center and has been named Best Equestrian Community in 2008 by Southern Style. This full boarding facility provides expert horse care, lessons and horseback trail rides on 12 miles of groomed riding trails. Lush pasture, a dressage training arena and jumping arena are located at Bright's Creek. The neighboring town of Tryon is a well known horse competition area with events held at the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center. Waterfalls, the Green River and natural spring creeks are beautiful watering holes along the hiking and horse trails. The Cliffield Mountain trail climbs 1,000 feet up to a 70 foot waterfall. Developed by N. Barton Tuck, the Bright's Creek equestrian community began in 2003. Tuck developed Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst North Carolina. Bright's Creek has been in a holding pattern of development as many others during the real estate recesssion. Then in the summer of 2011, Alexander Salgado and Gabrielle Barragan of Protex Investment Group Inc purchased Bright's Creek, a gated North Carolina mountain community. 

UPDATE: Bright's Creek informed us Alianza Trinity Holdings LLC acquired the community in 2013. The principals are Omar Botero, Gilberto Iragorri and Pasquale Giordano.
