Hammock Dunes in Palm Coast is a crown jewel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Nicknamed the 'Quieter Side of Florida', Palm Coast is considered one of the best small beach towns in northern Florida. Folks searching for the best retirement communities in Fl choose this area because of the small town feel and unspoiled beaches.

Hammock Dunes exudes elegance from the moment you pass through the gates. The Mediterranean architecture, swaying palm trees, and the Atlantic Ocean create eye-pleasing silhouettes throughout. The club, who owns and controls the golf course, clubhouse and main amenities, is a private equity club with two championship Palm Coast golf courses; the newly renovated oceanfront Tom Fazio Links Course and the Rees Jones Creek Course. The main 34,000 square foot oceanfront clubhouse provides elegant oceanfront dining, boutique fitness center, a heated swimming pool, and wide open veranda's where we always see people socializing. In 2017, a clubhouse renovation is planned. The three championship croquet lawns, five Har-Tru tennis courts, two new pickleball courts and two bocce courts add to sporting social club activities. Residents must join the club to access the club's amenities.

We're told Hammock Dunes is a financially strong, private club. It was awarded the Distinguished Emerald Club designation in 2013, an award given to only 38 private clubs in the US for outstanding quality, tradition and culture, amenities, governance, and quality of management and staff. This speaks volumes about the level of services provided to its members and makes it one of the best Palm Coast golf communities.

Hammock Dunes homes on the beach are priced over $1 million. Buyers may find patio and carriage homes or oceanfront condos from the low $200k's to the $400k's. Hammock Dunes Reviews

"If you are wealthy and can afford a large unit overlooking the beach and ocean or if this is a winter residence with a premium unit this place is gorgeous. If you are someone who has worked your whole life and saved and all you can afford is a lower unit where you can see, what appears to be a large lake beyond the lovely folliage, you might like it. If you are interested in a panoramic view of the ocean and beach, you might reconsider your decision. You will likely be disappointed with your purchase. Cannot comment on the Club. Cannot afford to join. Fortunately, I have no interest in social clubs. I am certain there are many residents who disagree with me. Just my opinion based on what I looked forward to about moving to Florida."

"Hammock Dunes Club is no longer what it was when we bought over 20 years ago. They are now $3 million in debt buying up the developer membership in a bad economy and are now doing whatever they can to get members selling non-equity memberships outside of the community. Long term members are upset and trapped into an environment where nothing is selling... It is still a beautiful place but no longer has the harmony that made it so special."
