Wild Dunes Resort is a Charleston neighborhood located on a barrier island 15 miles northeast of downtown. The Isle of Palms is a more laid back barrier island, unlike Folly Beach. Living in Charleston at Wild Dunes offers the combination of a gated community and a vacation beach lifestyle. The AAA Four Diamond rated hotel named The Boardwalk Inn is the central hub of resort activities, although property owners do have a private Beach Clubhouse for social functions. The Grand Pavilion Cafe & Bar overlooks six miles of the cleanest beaches in Charleston South Carolina. Bicycles are available to rent from the boardwalk and are fun for folks to ride on the hard sandy beach.

Wild Dunes Resort is known for world class tennis and is on the list of U.S. Top 10 Tennis Resorts. 17 Har-Tru courts, a stadium court, instructional facility and modern pro shop are more amenities at Wild Dunes Resort. After a heated tennis match, resident's can mosey on over to the Sand and Sea Salon for a soothing massage and spa services or splash in the community swimming pool. The Wild Dunes Fitness Center is located in The Village Plaza. Enjoy yoga or team up with your own personal trainer to help you achieve your wellness goals. Residents at Wild Dunes Resort have six restaurants, ice cream shops and a fresh market at the Village Plaza right inside their Charleston neighborhood.

Two golf courses hug the Intracoastal Waterway at Wild Dunes Resort; The Harbor Course and Links Course, both designed by Tom Fazio. At the Links Clubhouse, residents can analyze their golf swing, attend a golf clinic or buy the latest golf attire at the Pro Shop. Casual dining is offered at the Sand Bar at the Links Clubhouse. Most of the single family homes at Wild Dunes overlook the golf course while beachfront villas overlook the blue green Atlantic Ocean and have beach access. At Wild Dunes Resort, waterfront property offers quick access to the Intracoastal Waterway leading to Charleston Harbor. The Isle of Palms Marina and Dewees Marina are both at the entrance of the Intracoastal Waterway, a stones throw from Waterway Island at Wild Dunes Resort. Residents have the convenience of fuel, bait, a tackle shop and seaside restaurant at these marinas.

This Low Country real estate development began construction in the mid 1970’s. Developer Credibility

In 1972, Finch Properties sold Wild Dunes, then called Isle of Palms Beach and Racquet Club to Sea Pines of Hilton Head Island. In 1975, Sea Pines sold to Wild Dunes Associates. In 1983, Wild Dunes Associates sold to Destination Wild Dunes, an affiliate of Destination Hotels & Resorts Inc. Destination Hotels & Resorts is the property management division of Lowe Enterprises Inc, a Los Angeles California based real estate investment firm.

In 2002, Lowes Enterprises Inc won national Developer of the Year award from the National Association of Industry and Office Properties. Lowes Enterprises Inc is involved with trophy properties around the world, those including Wild Dunes Resort. From what we can see, the golf courses and amenities are owned by Destination Hotels & Resorts. To us, this takes the risk and burden off property owners at Wild Dunes Resort.

The 2011 Wild Dunes Community Association budget is on file with us. Home owner association dues have not increased in 9 years which shows the resort is financially well managed.
