Also within the Park you’ll find South Carolina’s only publicly accessible historic lighthouse. The Hunting Island Lighthouse dates back to the 1870s, and stands 170 feet tall. Climbing to the top offers a marvelous view of both the surrounding Lowcountry marshland and Atlantic Ocean.

Islands of Beaufort Reviews

3.9 / 5 (26 reviews)
"Well kept, family friendly community under competent HOA management. Often there are deer walking the neighborhood while birds of prey soar above. Most residents are true friends who enjoy a variety of frequently held social events in the community. A beautiful clubhouse, pool, tennis courts and a children's playground are centrally located. The parking is currently an issue but plans for expansion have been approved. This neighborhood is NOT within the normal flight path of the Marine Corps Air Station's jets although, you can hear them at times. As a resident I may be a bit biased in saying, IOB is without doubt the best community north of the Broad (river). Don't take my word though, come have a look for yourself. "

"We have owned property on Cotton Island in the island for 12 years. My wife and I, after visiting dozens of communities purchased a lot. Never once have thought to ourselves we should have purchased in another community. "
