Reynolds Planation is home to six championship golf courses, all are Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries. The golf course designers include Bob Cupp, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Rees Jones and Jim Engh. The Landing opened in 1986, The Plantation Course opened in 1998 and Great Waters Course opened in 1992. The next course at Reynolds Plantation featuring 27 holes, The National, opened in 1997. The Oconee Course by Rees Jones opened for play in 2002. The Creek Club opened in 2007 and is a members only private golf club.

Reynolds Golf Academy and the Kingdom at Reynolds Plantation cater to serious golfers seeking to improve their game. Reynolds Plantation offers several levels of club membership. The Platinum membership includes full privileges at all six courses, including the member-only Creek Club. The Gold and Silver memberships are paired with specific Reynolds Plantation golf courses. Social club membership includes 12 rounds of golf annually and provides access to all the amenities.

Beautiful Lake Oconee spreads across 19,000 acres hugging 374 miles of shoreline. The lake is managed by Georgia Power. Lake levels fluctuate minimally allowing permanent boat docks behind lakefront homes at Reynolds Plantation. Central Georgia's warmer weather is conducive to year round golf and water sports, ideal to owners of Lake Oconee real estate. Largemouth bass, sunfish, bream and catfish are popular fish species caught in the lake. Reynolds Plantation has four full-service marinas offering boat rentals, fuel docks and repair services. Boat rentals options include pontoon boats, kayaks and canoes.

There are five community clubhouses at Reynolds Plantation. Dining options range from elegant dining to more casual menus served lake side. The famous Ritz-Carlton Lodge overlooks Lake Oconee and is adjacent to the Oconee Course. This Georgia lake community has six resort-style swimming pools, 16 tennis courts and double-court stadium seating, 14 miles of walking trails and a 38,000 square foot state-of-the-art health and wellness center. Services at The Lake Club include spa treatments, personal trainers and wellness classes. The Heritage & Nature Center adjacent to the club provides nature hikes and lectures. Just beyond Reynold's gated entrance, Lake Oconee Village is home to a Publix grocery store, Spotlight Theatres, Restaurants, Medical Offices and Retail Shops. Each month during the summer, Reynolds Plantation is the host of its own Neighborhood Market where local farmers and artists bring their homemade products to the neighborhood. Nearby Lake Oconee best schools include Athens Academy, Gatewood School and Lake Oconee Academy, a high-performing Public Charter School rated among the top schools in the state. 

Residents at Reynolds Plantation have the option of participating in more than 30 self-organized social clubs in the community. Member activities include the Plantation Ladies Club, Men's Club and special interest groups. Many of the clubs are deeply involved in volunteerism to help the local community. In addition, The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) presents a wide range of cultural performances from the ballet and art exhibits to musical events. Approximately 2,300 homes have been built to date of the 4,000 to 5,000 planned. Architectural home styles include Cottage, Southern Traditional, Craftsman and Mountain Rustic. Reynolds Plantation homesites can be found under $50k. Single-family homes start in the $300k's and can easily exceed $1 million, those lakefront homes on Lake Oconee. New spacious cottages and condominiums, many with lake and golf views are priced in the $300k's. 

Reynolds Plantation is located 90 miles east of Atlanta, along the Antebellum Trails of Georgia. The Central Georgia moderate climate permits year round play on the golf course. Retiring Baby Boomers are drawn to this area because of the mild winter weather.
